The energy is feeling different out here — there’s a little bit of electricity in the air. If I had to give you an overarching theme for 2026, I’m seeing a lot of really delicious earthy energy, more present, in-person connections, personalized wellness, and an overall sense of forward momentum with very little holding you back. If you spent 2025 feeling like your foundation was being ripped apart, it was for a reason. 2025 was the Year of the Snake, centered around shedding your current life to make way for the new one. And I think that new era has officially arrived. Welcome to the Year of the Horse.
So what does the Year of the Horse actually mean for you? Be prepared for some fun, and be prepared for forward leaps. You did the hard work last year — this year is more unbridled. The energy of the Horse brings ambition, excitement, momentum, and clarity. It’s an energetic push forward, not a slow rebuild. If you worked hard to break habits or patterns in 2025, now is the time to release them so they’re not taking up your mental space anymore. You’ve earned the right to move forward. Ride that wave baby.
Say yes more often, make decisions faster, and trust that clarity will come after action. Build routines that keep you moving (daily walks, consistent workouts, regular check-ins with yourself) and clear anything that slows you down mentally or physically. Commit, take the leap, and let yourself stop overthinking.
We're already seeing some very earthy, grounding, luxe energy showing up as a return to texture, scent, and real physical presence. Think petrichor candles (the smell of the earth after it rains), palo santo, mineral-rich skin care, and showers that feel like a greenhouse — massive plants, stone shelves, warm water, steam. Homes are becoming sanctuaries again, with travertine, marble, brass, raw wood, and objects that feel touched by the earth rather than overly polished. This is about regulating your nervous system through your environment; feet on cool stone, skin smelling like rain, slowing down without losing sophistication.
You’ll see this grounded energy reflected in fashion through rich suedes, worn-in leathers, soft browns, mossy greens, and pieces that feel better the more you live in them. In beauty and wellness, it shows up as deeply sensory, grounding treatments — coffee scrubs, mineral baths, palo santo and amber in scent profiles and spa experiences designed to calm the nervous system and help you stay present in your body.
On the fashion front, 2026 is all about classic, old-money silhouettes infused with personality and a little edge. We saw this popping off in a major way this winter — think NYC Christmas in the 80s, lots of furs, brooches, and refined, classy aesthetics. It’s becoming modern through subtle twists: funnel-collar trench coats fastened with vintage brooches, layered jewelry that feels curated, not overdone. Classic, but not quiet luxury. It’s about power, playfulness, and letting your sensuality shine.
If you've been playing with the idea of the faux fur nows the time — immediately makes you feel a few tax brackets higher.
Attention is the new currency and people are realizing that constant access drains it. Every time you look at your phone there are countless businesses fighting for your focus. We're seeing a push towards phone free times and spaces moving into 2026.
Clubs and speakeasies with no-phone policies. Not as a gimmick — as a status signal. If you can’t film it, you had to be there.
Brands doubling down on in-person, experiential events. Intimate dinners, private tastings, salons, retreats. Less “content moment,” more memory-making.
Physical tools that create friction with your phone. Lock bags, phone bricks, sealed pouches, designated phone-free zones at events and in homes. Technology that limits technology.
Handwritten letters and notes (extreme feminine energy) Thank-you notes, love letters, invitations, place cards. Slower, intentional communication as a form of intimacy and luxury.
Making this work in your own life is about saying yes to real-life experiences and creating space for presence. Offer to host dinners or girls nights, set boundaries around your phone use (especially in the evenings) and prioritize moments where you can fully engage with the people and environment around you. It’s not about abandoning technology entirely it’s about reclaiming your time, your attention, and the power of being fully present.
Wellness in 2026 is about what actually makes you feel good. It’s not about chasing the latest trend or Instagram-famous ritual (though I’ll admit I stay intrigued), it’s about tuning in to your body. Build routines that support your gut, your nervous system, and your overall vitality — not because everyone else is doing it, but because it fits your life. We’re seeing even more personalized wellness data through tools like Oura rings, Whoop bands, and dare I suggest backed up testing like real hormone panels over self-proclaimed Insta experts.
We're also seeing a rise in wellness rooms and spa experiences. Think full Hammam wet spas (where you move through hot and cold pools, steam rooms, and saunas), wellness rooms you can enjoy privately for the hour complete with cold plunges and red light saunas, and even more unique experiences like Japanese head spas and Salt Rooms. As it becomes easier to 'fake' wealth through dupes and really good knockoffs I would bet anything the new luxury item will be your health. Not a starved down version of it but true, glowing from the inside out, health.
