It's Giving 'I Just Visited Martha Stewart's Summer Home'
By Jenny Smith Mattfeldt | Published October 16, 2025

The cutest, simplest, most refreshing drink you’ll ever make. Charming, crafty, and completely homegrown. The kind of cocktail that makes you feel like you just raided Martha Stewart’s summer home . It’s the homesteading of drinks, the artisanal DIY you didn’t know you needed. Meet the JSM Jam and Tonic.
When you hit that last stubborn spoonful of jelly in the jar, pause. Let it sit. Then dump in some gin. No exact science here (just measure with your heart) shake it up so every sticky bit of jam gets off the walls, and pop it back in the fridge to meld.
Strain it for a silky experience, or leave it delightfully muddled for charm. Next time you’re hosting a garden party — or just on the couch bingeing The Great British Baking Show (same vibes) —pour yourself a JSM Jam & Tonic.

Jam and Tonic
Ingredients:
1 heavy shot of your jam + gin mixture
2 shakes of bitters of choice (I used plum)
Splash of lime juice
Tonic water
Fresh raspberries or blackberries
Optional: mint leaf for garnish
Directions:
Make your jam gin mixture: get your almost empty jar ready, dump in gin, shake until the sides of the jar is clean, and pop it back in the fridge to meld.
Optional: strain the mixture for a smoother sip. Pour one heavy shot over ice in a glass, add a splash of lime juice, and top with tonic water.
Top with fresh blackberries, raspberries, or a mint leaf — don’t skip this step we’re going for full Martha Stewart-level craftiness here.
Enjoy the hell out of it.
