If you want to know what’s trending in the wellness world for the upcoming year, Well+Good is the go-to source. They’re at the forefront of the industry, backed by a team that conducts extensive research into emerging trends. But here at Evergreen we have the ways you can make these trends your own and tailor them to fit your life. It’s always exciting to see what the new year might bring, but as always keep in mind you don’t need to feel pressured by any of it. If something sparks your interest, embrace it. If not, let it pass. For 2025, the focus is spending more time in nature (a trend we reported Pinterest is also highlighting), carving out solo time for personal growth and rest, and truly celebrating your unique beauty.

A Renewed Emphasis on Nature

Across every corner of the wellness industry, there’s a growing emphasis on nature this year, and I couldn’t agree more. It feels like 2025 is bringing a much-needed reset, a shift away from constant phone use and toward putting down roots and reconnecting with real life.

You don’t have to be a hardcore hiker to reap the benefits of nature. Well+Good studies found that even “mini doses” of nature, like visiting botanical gardens, strolling through parks, tending to houseplants, or walking on trails, can help curb anxiety, lower blood pressure, and boost your immune system. So consider this your permission slip to pick up a few houseplants.

Soft or Hard Wellness

You’ve probably heard of soft versus hard skills, but have you ever heard of soft versus hard wellness? Soft Wellness encompasses activities that help you feel present and in tune with your body. Think meditation, yoga, taking a pottery class, going for walks, or indulging in a spa day. These practices are about grounding yourself, nurturing your mind and body, and creating space to simply be.

On the flip side, hard wellness leans into the analytical and data-driven side of health. This includes things like wearing devices like the Oura Ring, undergoing body scans, getting blood panels, trying stem cell treatments, or receiving IV therapy. These approaches focus on measuring and optimizing health in a tangible, scientific way. Interestingly, the rise of hard wellness might be tied to the growing distrust in traditional medical systems. According to Well+Good, more people are choosing to take their health into their own hands, blending technology and wellness practices to feel more empowered in their journeys.

This is one of those beautifully thought-provoking trends where you can take what resonates with you and leave what doesn’t. Have you been curious about getting an Oura Ring or WHOOP band to take a closer look at your health? Maybe this is your sign. Or, if you’re constantly surrounded by technology, perhaps it’s time to balance things out with a pottery or painting class. Just tune in, you’ll know what you need.

Making Financial Wellness a Priority

If you’re planning to make big moves this year, maybe youre buying a home, taking a dream vacation, or starting a family, it’s essential to take control of your finances. Financial wellness is often overlooked, but once you understand what’s going on with your money, you’ll feel infinitely more empowered. It’s like suspecting there’s mold behind a wall in your home but choosing to ignore it because dealing with it feels overwhelming. Eventually, though, that mold will cause major problems, just like neglected finances can. Knowing what you have and where it’s going gives you the power to decide where to splurge and where to cut back, so you can focus on what truly matters to you.

The real barrier to taking control of your finances isn’t money, it’s knowledge. Make this the year you commit to educating yourself. Taking a closer look at your finances can feel intimidating, especially for women. If you’re not sure where to start, consider Money is Power, Money is Choice: A Woman’s Guide to Financial Confidence. It offers a blend of practical advice, like which accounts to open, alongside internal work, such as mindset shifts and journal prompts to help you tackle any unhelpful subconscious beliefs about money.

Travel for True Restoration

How many times have you returned from a vacation only to think, "I need a vacation to recover from that"? The newest vacation trend, one I'm a big fan of, is traveling with the sole focus of rest and rejuvenation, with optional adventure time, of course. This could mean staying at wellness-focused resorts, indulging in award-winning spas, or retreating to a cabin in the mountains, completely disconnected from work. And this trend shows no signs of slowing down; it speaks to our growing desire to unplug and spend time in nature.

It also ties into the idea of investing in experiences that truly replenish you. If you're craving some serious rest and rejuvenation, investing in a getaway that prioritizes your well-being is a choice that pays off.

Beauty That Meets You Where You Are

Well+Good said it best: “There’s no one-size-fits-all approach to beauty.” Trying to change yourself to fit every passing trend is officially out. Instead, enhancing your unique features and embracing your personal journey is in. When it comes to things that aren’t easily changed, like your nose, hair texture, height, or body type, it’s time to stop chasing fleeting ideals. Button noses, big butts, and thin eyebrows come and go, but your authenticity is timeless.

This mindset extends to how you care for yourself, too. As Well+Good notes, the things your body needs at 20 will be completely different from what benefits you at 60. Embracing the season you’re in and honoring what your body and mind require right now is the ultimate form of self-care.

There’s a balance to be found between feeling peaceful and confident in who you are and working to enhance your unique features without succumbing to the pressure of constantly altering yourself to fit every new trend. For many of us, the urge to conform has become almost subconscious. To break free from that cycle, take a moment to reflect on how you can celebrate, enhance, and truly love the features that make you you.
