Low-Tox Clean Makeup Additions for the Wellness-ish Girl

The clean beauty products currently earning a spot in my makeup bag.

My forever advice when you're on a mission to switch towards clean products—don't just run out and overhaul everything at once. Wait until something in your routine needs a restock, do your research, and replace one at a time. (Works on a few levels because you can make sure it agrees with your skin this way too.) These are the newest low tox products I can't get enough of.
I’ve been on the hunt for a good low tox setting spray lately. I’ve been loving the Cali Ray Surf Proof Setting Spray, but when Saie recently launched their City Set Setting Spay, I had to try it.
Immediately it feels high-end, starting with the sprayer. It delivers the kind of ultra-fine mist that gives you a light, even layer without soaking your face. The finish feels so fresh and leaves your makeup looking hydrated.
Their SuperSuede bronzer is really having a moment too. It’s buttery soft, blends really well without any blotchiness. I’ve been obsessed with the coconut-scented Physicians Formula bronzer since high school and this feel like such a nice swap out. Obviously there’s no fragrance here (the trade-off with low-tox), but the formula more than makes up for it. It’s smooth, flattering, and a really nice upgrade.
The Ilia Skin Rewind Complexion Stick is exactly what it sounds like—a foundation in stick form, which means extremely easy application. Just draw it on where you need coverage and blend it out with a sponge or brush. It is a thicker product (has to stay in solid form versus liquid in a bottle) so skin prep is a must, make sure you're properly hydrated for good application.
The formula is very creamy, which makes for a really smooth application and a satiny finish (not matte or dewy.) Start with light layers and build coverage where you need a little more. It also includes an active ceramide peptide complex, designed to help support the skin barrier while softening the look of fine lines over time (I can't believe this is something I think about now.)
I officially have a new favorite mascara—and that’s saying something, because mascara is one of the products I’m most picky about. The Kosas Soul Gazer Mascara really separates and lengthens the lashes without letting them clump together. If you’re after clean, defined length instead of thick, spidery lashes, this one is a must-try.
Another standout from Kosas right now: their Cloud Set Loose Setting Powder. It comes in a few translucent, lightly tinted shades. I’ve been using the adorably pink-toned Candy. They nailed the “cloud” description. The texture is incredibly light, soft, and almost fluffy on the skin. It sets makeup without that heavy, powdery look, which makes it an easy rec.
