The 10 Western Accessories in Our Fall Shopping Carts

As soon as the weather starts to cool down and the layers come out, I inevitably find myself shopping some very western coded shops. Maybe it’s the impending NFR fashion content, maybe it’s the abundance of leather and suede this time of year, but the two have become pretty synonymous in my mind.
This fall, I have a few things marinating in my online shopping cart from old school, craftsman style pieces to the chic little finds that can make an otherwise simple outfit feel a whole lot more interesting. Some lean fully western, others just have the right amount of it. And if you happen to forward this little roundup to your husband with Christmas approaching, well, I certainly won’t stop you.

These earrings went viral for all the right reasons. The Yellow Mare is a small, handmade jewelry brand creating the kind of delicate, vintage inspired pieces that make you wonder why you ever bother with mass produced jewelry in the first place. I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve gone to her site just to look at these again. The little coins, horse details, and perfectly imperfect stones feel like something you’d stumble across in a vintage shop and never quite get over. And because the stones will never be identical, your pair won’t be exactly like anyone else’s. Which in my opinion is kind of the whole point.
The OG earrings that put The Yellow Mare on my radar have since gone viral, so they’re now released in preorder batches. There’s still time to snag a pair for Christmas, but I’d also recommend a scroll through the rest of her collection. There are plenty more pieces if you happen to share my taste in jewelry with a little history and a western streak.
Stones are Palomino Variscite with sterling silver tassels. Total length 4.5 inches, handcrafted and one of a kind.

The Aelia purses are making a very strong case for the perfect night out bag. Enough room for your phone, wallet, and keys, but still small enough to tuck under your arm. I’ll always love a classic outfit with a wild bag it’s the easiest way to make an otherwise simple look feel like you.
My current favorites are the Marlboro inspired beaded cowgirl bag, the Dolly tassel a dramatic fringe number (available in gold and silver, and practically begging to make an appearance during NFR season), and the beaded bandana bag, which might genuinely be the most adorable thing on this entire list.
Vintage bandana pattern with terracotta and white beading. Intricate paisley and floral designs with gold hardware.
A completely cream and red beaded bag with gold hardware. Beaded shoulder strap and beaded tassel down both sides.

It’s so hard for me to do these roundups without Tecovas making the list. Yes, the boots are cool and so aesthetically perfect, but the brand loyalty actually comes down to how they wear. I get terrible blisters and these are the boots that hardly ever bother my feet and for that reason alone I can't get enough of them.
The latest Loretta releases, particularly the cowhide and alligator and the hunter green suede, have me drooling. These are night out boots. These are the “the boots are the whole outfit” boots. The ones that make the rest of your outfit an afterthought because the boots are doing all the work.
Nubuck caiman and truffle cowhide boots. The leather is 'pre broken in' which makes that absurdly comfortable. 17" height, snip toe, and 1 ¾" stacked leather heel.

Do I already own like four of these? Yes. Am I still window shopping a few more? You know I am. My favorite everyday leather tote is from this brand, along with all my hair clips and keychains, so as you can see I’m pretty committed. They just do classic, high quality leather goods really well. Bookmark these clips for ridiculously easy Christmas gifts, too.
My favorite way to wear them right now: put on your hat, pull your hair into a low pony, twist it up, and use one of these pins to secure the twist through the hole in the back of your hat. Actually so cute, takes approximately two seconds, and keeps your hair in place. What more could we ask for?

There’s been a resurgence in repurposing little vintage finds lately and the old school metal cigarette case being used as a mini wallet is one trend I can fully get behind. It’s chic in that interesting, probably has a good story kind of way. After years of identical trendy accessories and everything feeling a little too clean girl, I think we’ve finally hit the tipping point.
Things are getting weirder, grungier, and a lot more fun. I love a bag accessory that leaves people wondering whether you’re about to pull out a cigarette, a tiny stack of cash, or a lip gloss the mystery is part of the appeal.

Emerald Valley is a variety of turquoise mined in Nevada that leans more green than the classic teals and blues we typically associate with the stone. One of the coolest things about turquoise is how much its appearance can change depending on where it’s mined. Sleeping Beauty turquoise, from Globe, Arizona, is known for its pretty, solid light blues, while different mines throughout Arizona produce their own distinctive shades and patterns. There’s even Golden Hills, a gorgeous purpley periwinkle mined in Kazakhstan.
I’m partial to anything green, so Emerald Valley is right up my alley. This particular ring is even more special because my dad picked it out for me, making it one of my favorite pieces at the moment.
If you’re shopping for genuine turquoise, where you buy it matters. Look for independent sellers, Native American artists, and local jewelers who can speak to the stone’s origin and authenticity.
If you’re investing in a legitimate piece of turquoise, this isn’t the kind of thing you add to your Amazon cart and hope for the best.
Handmade Emerald Valley Turquoise and sterling silver ring, handmade so every piece is perfectly one of a kind.

I can’t stop thinking about these little pottery to go coffee cups with the half lids. Maybe it’s the type B mess in me, but there’s something about a lid that only does half the job that makes me like I'm breaking the rules.
This particular one might be finding its way under a few friends Christmas trees this year. Between the little hand drawn cacti, cowboy hats, and even a tiny martini glass, it feels like a small piece of someone’s personality rather than just another coffee cup. It might not technically be part of the outfit, but I’m a firm believer that everything you carry around should keep the vibes going.
This USA made ceramic cowgirl mug is created by happlilbear on Etsy. It's glazed with food safe materials, microwave safe, and hand painted.

I love an accessory that adds a little something to an outfit without requiring you to build the entire look around it, and these silver dot hoops do exactly that. The raised dot detailing gives them a little more texture and interest than your standard silver hoop, but they’re still simple enough to wear with pretty much anything (especially if you're working with a turquoise ring stack.) Think everyday denim and a sweater, a more dressed-up night-out look, or layered in with your favorite western jewelry. They’re one of those pieces that just make sense to have in your rotation. And for the price, I think they look significantly more expensive than they actually are.
Sterling silver caviar hoop earrings, 1.06 inches by 1 inch. Hypoallergenic and nickel free.

Yes, suede for fall is hardly groundbreaking, but I will never turn down a good suede accessory, especially when it comes in a color like this. I love the asymmetrical shape of Free People’s Dover belt because it feels a little less expected than your standard leather belt, and the burgundy is such a good way to work a pop of color into an otherwise warm, neutral fall palette.
It has that slightly undone, vintage feel that works so well with western coded outfits without making the whole look feel like you’re headed to a costume party. A small detail, but a very good one.

This isn’t your typical yee haw type western accessory, but it's such a chic way to complement a western coded outfit while leaning into the autumn palette without adding another piece of suede or turquoise to the mix. I’m also on a bit of a watch kick right now, so consider this a current hyperfixation.
There’s something about a croc embossed strap in a rich, dark brown that feels so classic and put together, but not in a your grandma’s watch kind of way. Pair it with gold jewelry, a great belt, and your favorite boots, and suddenly the whole outfit just feels finished off.
The Caravelle watch pairs a gold tone stainless steel case with a croc embossed band for a classic, vintage inspired look.
Now if you'll excuse me I need to forward this list to my husband.
