In recent years, a growing wave of declassified documents and ancient discoveries has begun to challenge what we think we know about the human mind. One example gaining attention is remote viewing—a technique once secretly studied by U.S. intelligence agencies during the Cold War. Put simply, remote viewing is the ability to mentally "see" or describe a person, place, or object that’s far away, without being physically present.
The fact that government programs invested time and resources into studying it raises an important question: what else might the mind be capable of? When we look at ancient civilizations—from Egyptian mystery schools to Vedic texts to Mayan rituals—we see clues that they may have understood how to tap into higher states of awareness in ways that modern culture has forgotten—or intentionally left out of the conversation.
Mind-Body-Spirit Integration
Ancient cultures—from Egypt to India to Mesoamerica—didn’t separate the mind from the body or spirit the way modern Western science does. Practices like meditation, breathwork, fasting, and chanting were often used not just for physical health but to access altered states of consciousness or divine insight. Many of these mirror what modern neuroscience is now studying for cognitive benefits (e.g., breathwork’s effect on the vagus nerve, or meditation altering brain waves).
Sacred Geometry & Energy

Structures like the Great Pyramids, Stonehenge, and various temples across the world use sacred geometry and are aligned with astronomical bodies in ways that suggest a deep understanding of energy, vibration, and the cosmos. Some researchers think these sites could have functioned as energy amplifiers or even consciousness-enhancing spaces. Today you can visit places like Sedona, Arizona to experience the energy vortex.
Psychedelics and Plant Medicine
From ayahuasca in the Amazon to soma in Vedic texts, many ancient civilizations used plant medicines to induce spiritual visions and healing. Today, modern researchers are circling back with psychedelic-assisted therapy to treat trauma and mental illness, revealing the depth of what these cultures might have intuitively known.
The Pineal Gland Connection

Cultures like the ancient Egyptians (with their Eye of Horus symbolism) and Hindus (with the third eye chakra) seem to have recognized the pineal gland as a kind of "spiritual antenna." Modern science confirms it regulates melatonin, but some traditions believe it also plays a role in accessing higher states of awareness.
Oral Tradition & Lost Knowledge
A lot of what these civilizations knew wasn’t written down, but passed orally—and some of it was intentionally destroyed or dismissed during colonization or conquest. What remains often hints at advanced understanding of astronomy, human consciousness, and even metaphysics.
Vibration, Sound & Healing

Ancient sound technologies—like Tibetan singing bowls, Egyptian sistrums, or the use of mantras—are now being studied for their effect on brainwaves, healing, and nervous system regulation. Basically, it looks like many ancient cultures were way more advanced in the inner world—emotions, energy, consciousness—while we’ve been more focused on the outer world: machines, data, and productivity. And now there’s a kind of reunion happening where science and spirituality are starting to meet again.
